NerdChotic: At what age did you first find out you were a nerd?
And what brought it out of you?
Shantel: Ever since I was little, I’ve constantly dressed up and watched anime/cartoon with out knowing I was actually geeking out I guess. I started actually being open with it about 3 years ago because of my idol Vampy.
NerdChotic: After finding out that you were into nerdy things. How long did it take before you transitioned over to cosplaying?
Shantel: It took me awhile to be comfortable with myself to be able to go out and dress up, but I remember the first time I ever went to a con. It was like heaven and I felt so at home with all the cosplayers and geeks!
NerdChotic: What has been your favorite cosplay so far? And what plans do you have for the future?
Shantel: My fav cosplay I’ve done so far I think would be catwoman because I’ve been a batman fan ever since I watched the Timburton series and I think Batman and Robin was the first one I ever saw which had catwoman in it and I really just fell in love. CRUSHHH :b
NerdChotic: What is something fans don’t know about You? Personal or secret?
Shantel: Uhm maybe that I believe in loving either gender, it’s not secret. I’m actually quite open but ya. I don’t think a lot of people know that, not like it’s a big deal :b
NerdChotic: At a younger age, what did you think your job would be when you grew up?
Shantel: Well I always wanted to model because having my stepsister be my rolemodel, gorgeous girl, she wanted to model and I sorta followed and ended up making it a passion. I also do graphic design because I’ve always had a passion for art be it fine art or not.
NerdChotic: What city are you from? And where do u currently call home?
Shantel: I’m originally from a small town out in the country called Lindsay Ontario, and now I reside in Niagara Falls, Canada.
NerdChotic: Do you have a favorite anime, comic, and or video game?
Shantel: Hm, tough choice!! I can’t choose my fav anime haha but as for comic it would be Sky Doll because of the beautiful art and cute little stories. Video game would be Halo or Bioshock!
NerdChotic: What Is your dream job outside of what your doing?
Shantel; I’d like to say I’m working toward my dream job with what I’m doing.
NerdChotic: And is cosplaying your main job?
Shantel: At the moment cosplaying is my main job but I do some graphic design work as well.
NerdChotic: Do u have. Nerd crush?
Shantel: Do anime characters count? I’ve had a crush on Zero from Vampire Knight for the longest time. haha.I honestly don’t know my measurments off by heart but I’m 5’3” very chibi ^^
NerdChotic: Can you recall your first convention? And what feelings do your remember?
Shantel: My first con was Anime North and it was really overwelming. Amazing. I felt right at home and really accepted. No one judges ya know.
