- This SNM (Sexy Nerd Monday) is a very special one. I have been given the opportunity to interview the extremely talented and gifted Naomi VonKreeps. Naomi is a huge cosplay in Canada and her stardom is growing rapidly.

*At what age did you first find out you were a nerd? And what brought it out of you?
I think I’ve always been a nerd. I was always a book worm reading classics from authors such as Kafka and Camus at a young age, so I was pretty geeky growing up. This coupled with watching reruns of the original Dr. Who series and seeing Star Wars pretty much sealed the deal.
*After finding out that you were into nerdy things. How long did it take before you transitioned over to cosplaying?
It took me a long time actually. I just did my first ever cosplay photo shoot dressed as the Black Cat. I’ve done other shoots wearing Boba fett and Darth Vader’s helmet, but I don’t consider these shoots as cosplaying since my outfit had nothing to do with the original costume.
*What has been your favorite cosplay so far? And what plans do you have for the future?
Since The Black Cat is my first one, I’d have to say that one. Haha. I plan on doing a lot more cosplaying in the future tho. Next up is the Black Canary
*What is something fans don’t know about You?
Probably that I really am a true geek, as my day job is doing db admin and Web development for the Canadian government.
*What city are you from? And where do u currently call home? I
am from Ottawa, Ontario and I still call it home!
*Do you have a favorite anime, comic, and or video game?
Spiderman and Batman are my favourite comics. Right now my favourite video game is Diablo III, but I have a major soft spot for old school games like Super Mario Brothers and Duck Hunt. I enjoy anime, but I can’t say I’m a true fan, therefore don’t really have a favorite.
* What Is your dream job outside of what you’re doing?
Being a full time model would be pretty dreamy, but I have to say I rather enjoy my day job right now.
*Do u have. Nerd crush?
Can Boba Fett be considered a nerd crush? haha
*If you could have one Super Power what would it be?
Mind control which would inevitably lead to world domination!!! MUAHAHAHAHA.
*Batman or Superman?
Batman. I like the darkness of him. He is a good guy, but sometimes almost seems borderline evil..I like that
*Can you recall your first convention? And what feelings do your remember?
First convention was the recent one here in Ottawa. I pretty much had a fangirl meltdown when I met Jeremy Bulloch. I was shaking and ready to burst into tears when I told him that I was only there for him..It was pretty ridiculous. Haha. Other than that, it was total sensory overload for me.
*Tattoos?
Ya, I have several. Geekiest tattoo is the first tattoo I ever got, being binary code around my right ankle. I have a full sleeve on my right arm, and a bunch of other tattoos on different parts of my body.
*Are you random and explain?
Yes..totally random..I’m a big kid at heart, and completely lack a brain to mouth filter and I constantly blurt out the random insane shit that is going thru my head at all times. Most of the time I have no explanation for my actions and thoughts, but it sure as hell is entertaining to me as well as whoever is around me..oh who am I kidding..it entertains me…everyone else just thinks I’m rather crazy..
